Don Cable

Don has been involved in the building industry in New South Wales and Queensland in excess of 30 years. He came from a multidisciplinary background with hands on experience commencing from the time of his carpentry apprenticeship in 1971 with a large commercial builder. Following this, he became a residential registered builder in which he specialised in Cape Cod conversions and architecturally designed homes prior to returning to private industry to commence in estimating and later as a construction supervisor in residential and a building foreman in commercial projects.

The mid 80s saw a change in the industry moving towards the use of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Don led the implementation of this in a medium sized building company integrating the drawing and estimating together. With innovative techniques and commitment to computerised integration he was offered the New South Wales dealership in sales, support and training of Cadsoft software.

He has also spent time engaged in a large transport company as Business Systems Manager customising and implementing computer systems to aid with all aspects of the company’s operations before most recently merging my disciplines of design, estimating and software sales and support as General Manager of medium custom building company prior to returning to Cadsoft as the Queensland agent.
